Village of North Barrington

Edmund P. "Pete" Boland

Trustee Pete Boland was elected to the Board in the April 17, 2007 Consolidated Election. Trustee Boland previously served as Trustee from 1985 to 1993, and then again from 1995 to 2001. Trustee Boland will oversee the Village's Police Fire and Public Safety programs, legal issues, as well serve as the Trustee Liaison to the Environmental & Health Commission. Gery Herrmann

Trustee Gery Herrmann was elected April 2011 filling the unexpired Term of Trustee Camille Koertner ending 4/30/13. The Herrmann family moved to Biltmore in 1960. Gery graduated from Barrington High School in 1973 and received his D.V.M. from the University of Illinois in 1983. Gery and his wife Darcy purchased a home in the Village after graduation and raised their three children Ben, Megan, and Eric here. Over the past 10 years Gery has served the Village on the Plan Commission as well as the Environmental and Health Commission. Dr. Herrmann owns and operates the Mundelein Animal Hospital and has served on the Board of the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association and The Chicao Herpetological Society. Trustee Herrmann will serve as the Trustee Liason to the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO). Email: gherrmann@northbarrington.org

Brent L. Johnson

Trustee Brent Johnson was appointed to the Board in April 2011. Brent has resided in North Barrington's Grassmere Farm subdivision with his wife, Joann, and two children since 1999. Trustee Johnson earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois and received a Masters degree from DePaul University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has big four public accounting firm management experience. Brent has served as the Chief Financial Officer of a Chicago options trading firm and is currently the CFO of an internet based education company. Trustee Johnson will serve as the Trustee Liaison to the Finance Committee and oversee the Village's Road, Utilities and Stormwater Management programs. Email: bjohnson@northbarrington.org

Ann Kafka

Ann Kafka, her husband and three children, have resided in North Barrington since 2003. She is an active volunteer in the community including Barrington Schools, Wynstone Golf Club, and the

North Barrington Parks and Recreation Commission. Prior to being appointed as a Trusteee, she was Vice Chairman of the Parks and Recreation Commission where she assisted with planning community events for approximately 5 years. Ann works as a sales professional with a supply chain solutions company in the Chicagoland area. She will serve as the Trustee Liaison for the Parks and Recreation Commission. Email: akafka@northbarrington.org

 

Mark Kolar

Trustee Mark Kolar, his wife Mary and their three daughters have lived in Biltmore since 1980. Mark has been very active in the community and has served as Chairman of the Plan Commission for the Village and was recently a member of the Plan Commission before being elected as a Village Trustee. He has also served on the adult board for "New Generations" a local teen organization affiliated with Barrington High School. A Realtor for the past 31 years, Mark is a past President of the Barrington Area Association of Realtors, Past Vice President of the Multiple Listing Service of Northern Illinois and has served on the Professional Standards Committee for the Board of Realtors. Lawrence Jay Weiner

Trustee Lawrence "Lawre" Weiner Lawre has been a resident of North Barrington since 1972. He was a founder and former director of the Bueler YMCA, and has been inducted into the Barrington Senior Hall of Fame. He was a former Trustee for North Barrington and served on its Plan Commission. Lawre was also an elected Trustee and former President of the Barrington Area Library Board of Trustees. He practices law in a Chicago law firm specializing in management employment and labor law, and represents many municipalities and other units of local government. He is a member of the Biltmore Country Club, and together with Terri Tepper, his loving wife for 43 years, has four granddaughters. Trustee Weiner will serve as the Trustee Liaison to the Zoning Board of Appeals. Email: lweiner@northbarrington.org
